Rules, discipline & uniform
Learners and parents are bound by Glen Afric's rules, regulations and Code of Conduct. Any costs incurred in disciplining a learner are borne by the applicant. A uniform is required during classes and school activities, detailed in the General Information Brochure.
In Loco Parentis & consent to act
The Head of Glen Afric is granted parental authority (in loco parentis) over the learner while on the premises or at any school-related activity, including consenting to emergency medical treatment if needed.
Site & safety
Glen Afric Learning Centre is situated on the Glen Afric Country Lodge. Access is controlled, gate passes are required for vehicles, and all vehicles are subject to random security checks.
Fees & payment terms
Fees are set out in a separate Fee Schedule and payable in advance, by the first of the month, over 11 months. A non-refundable deposit is required on enrolment. Outstanding fees attract interest, calculated and compounded monthly. Examination fees are separate, payable directly to the examination centre.
Ending enrolment
To terminate enrolment, the applicant must give 3 calendar months' written notice, or pay 3 months' fees in lieu of notice, plus any other amounts owing.
Indemnity & liability
The applicant indemnifies Glen Afric's Directors, Head and Staff against claims arising from the learner's enrolment, except in cases of gross negligence. Personal possessions of the learner are not covered by Glen Afric's insurance.
Language, law & jurisdiction
English is the medium of instruction. South African law applies to any dispute, with jurisdiction in the Brits Magistrate's Court or North Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, at Glen Afric's discretion.
